Biography

John Baldwin is the District Extension Director for the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences in Northeast Florida. Dr. Baldwin works closely with the Dean and Associate Dean of Extension and program leaders in 4-H Youth Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, Agriculture, and Sea Grant / Natural Resources. Major emphasis is placed on hiring faculty, program development, implementation, evaluation, and county relations.

Dr. Baldwin received a B.S. degree in Animal Science from Colorado State University; an M.S. in Animal Science from the University of Florida; and a Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Florida. He started his Extension career in Madison County, Florida, and spent twelve years as the County Extension Director in Levy County, Florida. After earning his Ph.D., he worked for eighteen years as a peanut agronomist in the Crop and Soil Science Department at the University of Georgia, where he conducted research and extension programs in peanut production and cropping systems.
