The John and Martha Woeste Professional Development Award supports an early-career Florida Cooperative Extension Service faculty member's participation in a professional development activity. The award is presented to a state or county Extension faculty member with less than 7 years of service in Florida Cooperative Extension who presents a strong proposal for professional development.

Eligibility: The recipient will have less than 7 years of service in Florida Cooperative Extension.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $500 for appointment of term professorship and up to $1,500 for professional development.

One award will be given.

The Marshall and Mildred Watkins Professional Improvement Award is presented to an outstanding state or county Extension faculty member who presents a strong proposal for professional development.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $1,500 for appointment of term professorship and up to $1,500 for professional development.

One award will be given.

The Master Gardener Distinguished Extension Professional and Enhancement Award provides a term professorship to a dedicated and outstanding Extension faculty member working with the Florida Master Gardener Program.

Selection: Candidates will be chosen by a select Master Gardener committee.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $3,000 for appointment of term professorship and $2,000 for program support

One award will be given.

The Art Hornsby Distinguished Extension Professional and Enhancement Award recognizes state or county Extension faculty members with a term professorship for creative contributions and outreach programs related to soil and water sciences.

Eligibility: The Extension program must be related to soil and water sciences.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $3,000 for appointment of term professorship and $2,000 for program support.

Two awards will be given.

The Sadler Distinguished Extension Professional and Enhancement Award provides a term professorship and program support to state or county Extension faculty members who have developed an exemplary education program for citizens in central Florida.

Eligibility: Awards are available to faculty working in Orange, Seminole, Lake, Brevard, Osceola, Volusia, Citrus, Flagler, Hernando, Marion, Putnam, Sumter or St. Johns counties.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $2,500 for appointment of term professorship and $2,000 for program support.

One award will be given.

The Alto Straughn 4-H Extension Professional and Enhancement Award recognizes state or county Extension faculty members for creative contributions and outreach programs related to 4-H Youth Development.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $3,000 for appointment of term professorship and $2,000 for program support.

Two awards will be given.

The Wells Fargo Extension Professional Award/Program Enhancement Grant provides a term professorship for state or county Extension faculty members who have a distinguished record of Extension programming and who have implemented creative, innovative educational programs and educational products.

Eligibility: Extension programs must be in the public policy arena of land and water use, urban/rural interface, families and children, environmental quality, human resources development, or competitiveness/trade. As these public policy issues are often complex, these extension faculty may work in partnership with community agencies, state government, other universities, community colleges, and other institutions with the best expertise in these areas to address current and future public policy issues. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of Extension experience.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $3,000 for appointment of term professorship and $5,000 for program support.

Two awards will be given.

The Seymour Goldweber Extension Professional and Enhancement Award provides a term professorship to outstanding state or county Extension faculty members who have developed an educational program that contributes to making the Florida Extension Service the best in the nation.

Eligibility: Awards are available to faculty working in Charlotte, Glades, Martin, Lee, Hendry, Palm Beach, Collier, Broward, Miami-Dade, or Monroe counties. Candidate must have national recognition from a professional organization or society.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $3,000 for appointment of term professorship and $2,000 for program support.

Two awards will be given.

The Mary Harrison Extension Professional and Enhancement Award provides a term professorship to a state or county extension faculty member and program support for a specific development activity in the area of Family, Youth and Community Sciences.

Eligibility: Candidates must work in the Family and Consumer Sciences area with 5 or more years of experience in Florida Extension.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $1,500 for appointment of term professorship and $500 for program support.

Other information: Faculty are eligible to receive this award for 3 consecutive years.

One award will be given.

The Dallas Townsend Extension Professional Enhancement Award recognizes a County Extension Agent and a State Extension Specialist each with a 1-year term professorship for demonstrating an outstanding ability to plan and implement Extension programs that address needs that have been identified in consultation with their clientele.

Eligibility: County Extension Agent candidates must conduct at least 70% of their Extension programming in the field of agriculture. The remaining 30% or less program responsibility will be preferably in 4-H Youth Development, but may be in other disciplines. County Extension Director candidates must conduct no less than a 50% of their Extension program in agriculture. Extension Specialist candidates must indicate not less than a 60% responsibility for Extension programs in the field of agriculture.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $2,000 for appointment of term professorship and a one-time grant of $1,000 to support an identified program activity or for professional improvement and development.

Two awards will be given.

The Christine Taylor Waddill Extension Professional and Enhancement Award provides a term professorship and program support to a state or county Extension faculty member who promotes outstanding educational programs and demonstrate scholarship in Extension.

Eligibility: Candidates must have 5 or more years of experience.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $1,500 for appointment of term professorship and $1,000 for program support.

One award will be given.

The Alto and Patrecia Straughn Extension Educational Improvement Award provides a term professorship and program support to a county Extension faculty member for continuing education and other professional improvement as approved by the Dean for Extension.

Selection: Based on a proposal to further education through academic training or professional development that will enhance the nominee's current Extension program.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $500 for appointment of term professorship and $1,500 for professional development.

One award will be given.

The Johnson County Faculty Professional Development Award is presented to an outstanding county Extension faculty member with a strong proposal for professional development where travel funds are required.

Award: $1,500 will be provided for travel support.

One award will be given.

The Extension Entrepreneurial Team Award will provide $7,500 in seed money to a group of Extension faculty to who have an entrepreneurial idea that can be developed into a long-term revenue-enhancing Extension program.

Selection: Based on level of innovation, entrepreneurship, likelihood of success, and revenue-enhancing potential.

Award: $7,500 in programmatic funds will be provided to support the team effort.

One award will be given.

The UF/IFAS Extension Mentor of the Year Award recognizes a Florida Cooperative Extension Service faculty member who has an excellent record of mentoring county extension agents. It is awarded to a county or statewide Extension faculty member with strong mentoring achievements that include but are not exclusive to the mentor roles stated in the Mentoring Handbook (e.g., role model, career counselor, and coach).

Eligibility: The nominee should have completed 'mentoring online course' offered by UF/IFAS Extension and have more than five (5) years of service in the Florida Cooperative Extension Service.

Award: A one-time salary supplement of $1,000 for appointment of term professorship and $1,000 program support.
